The Protective Effects of Apigenin on Cognitive Function and The Brain Transcriptome in Old Mice

Abstract Objective: Obesity and physical activity are two major factors affecting aerobic performance in older adults. The underlying mechanisms of the causes still unknown. Oxidative capacity, muscles’ maximal capacity to utilize oxygen, is a part performance. Muscle oxygen level (SmO2), measure oxidative reflects balance between delivery demand. When surpasses demand, SmO2 increases, which indicates higher capacity. This study aimed identify influence obesity on changes during after short exercise. Methods: cross-sectional study. bilateral heel-raise (BHR) test were measured 60 community-dwelling adults (≥ years old) four groups: inactive obese, active non-obese, non-obese. Inactive defined as performing less than 150 minutes/week moderate-intensity activity. Results: obese group took longer time for drop BHR test, had lower at end, recovered slower all other groups.
